OTUMFUO OSEI TUTU'S II ADDRESS AT THE COMMISSIONING CEREMONY SETTLES THE DEBATE ON WHO SHOULD BE CREDITED WITH THE NEW CENTRAL MOSQUE*

History was made in Kumasi yesterday when the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the National Chief Imam , the  Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II met in a ceremonial mood  commission an ultra modern Central Mosque which has been renovated with a lot of features. 


This beautiful project becomes a massive campaign message of the New Patriotic Party in the Muslim communities even beyond the Ashanti region going into 2024 elections this should have been a welcoming news to well meaning Patriots however, this seems not to be the case with the camp of Hon. Alan kyeremanten all because of the Vice President's involvement.


I was extremely outraged to wake up this morning to see key members of Alan Kyeremanten's campaign share press Statements of the Opposition NDC claiming credit for the project. 


 We will recall  Alan Kyeremanten in his campaign tour in the Western region  told the whole country the New Patriotic Party has no campaign message going in election 2024. My question is  Why are they(Alan campaign)  bent on crediting this important achievement of the Vice President to the NDC when they know very well the renovated Mosque by the Vice President has the potential of winning the NPP party massive votes from the Muslim communities within and outside the Ashanti region. The answer I hope we all know.?


Having said all that , I would like to go into the heart of the write up on who should be credited with the project.  To start with I would like to say the brouhaha surrounding  the project  was brought to rest by Otumfuo when he took his turn to address the gathering at the ceremony. 

The revered  King with his enormous amount of wisdom foresaw the propaganda that would emerge after the commissioning and told the true history by himself to forestall any contradictory statements from political actors.


For the benefit of those who didn't get the chance to listen to him I will  quote portions of Otumfuo's statement for your perusals.


“ *But our special thanks, and gratitude, must go to our grandson, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia.* 


 *He was the first to inform me of his determination to give Kumasi a Mosque* *that would better reflect its status. I gave him my blessing and he has kept me fully updated from* *design stage through the building stage. I monitored him sneak into Kumasi incognito to personally oversee* *construction. I am sure it has been a labour of love, satisfying a noble cause. This Mosque will forever stand as a tribute to his commitment and dedication.”* 


Asantehene was  explicitly clear on where the applauds should be directed to so it is very surprising to wake up and see our own people joining the NDC to paint a different picture to the general public. 


In comparing the above statement by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei  Tutu and that of the Statement of the NDC the question I keep asking is what could be the motive of our brothers and sisters supporting Alan?  Again,  what impression are they  trying to  create by forwarding contrary remarks by the NDC.


To conclude, I am by this write up entreating the good people of our party expercially delegates to disregard  the NDC's statements  been championed by members of Alan kyeremanten campaign team.


  *Let us all stand by Otumfuo Osei Tutu's II address as because that is the only right  source of truth about the project .*
