ASANTEMAN NEEDS DEVELOPMENT MORE THAN HELPING INDIVIDUALS TO ACHIEVE THEIR POLITICAL AMBITION OF BECOMING THE PRESIDENT*

The Ashanti region is  no doubt the vote basket of the New Patriotic Party as far as general elections are concerned. Asanteman has always stood with the elephant regardless of where  it's Presidential candidates comes from. They stood with President Kuffour not because he was an Ashanti for eight years but because they needed development which he eventually delivered  and also the region voted for President  Akufo Addo, not because he is  an Akyem but again because they needed developments. Asanteman's long term relationship with the elephant is premised on the party's commitments to developing the region but not on individuals who led the party and where they come from. Under former President Kufuor's government Asanteman got a lot of developmental milestones, from roads infrastructure, healthcare infrastructure, market centres , school infrastructure and other development projects also  under Akufo Addo/Bawumia government the story  has not been different from that of President Kuffour's government as far as developmental projects  in Ashanti region are concerned.  Kumasi Airport phase 2, Kejetia market Phase 2, massive school infrastructure, Health infrastructure, massive road infrastructure , to mention a few.


The point I am trying to establish with this write up is that, the Ashanti region will always stay with the elephant because the elephant has always been go to the region with regard to Development and that the Asanteman  will never turn it back at the elephant because of its candidate who he is and where he comes from.


The above point shoots down the argument advanced by  section of the elephant family supporting Alan Kyeremanten that Ashanti region will not vote for the elephant 🐘 if they fail to elect Alan kyeremanten as it flagbearer. 


Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is in the contest and has proven to Asanteman that  he is committed  in continuing with the  development of Ashanti region just as Akufo Addo from the Eastern region has developed the Ashanti region. 

The Asantehene Early today, 3rd March,2023 in a statement at the lunching of the Central Mosque dwelled on Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia's commitment and dedication to  developing Asanteman.


 *“...But our special thanks, and gratitude, must go to our grandson, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia. 


 *He was the first to inform me of his determination to give Kumasi a Mosque that would better reflect its status. I gave him my blessing and he has kept me fully updated from design stage through the building stage. I monitored him sneak into Kumasi incognito to personally oversee construction. I am sure it has been a labour of love, satisfying* *a noble cause. This Mosque will forever stand as a tribute to his commitment and dedication.”**

Otumfuo in his statement acknowledged the role of the central mosque and Muslims in the development of the Ashanti region.


The massive crowd recorded at the commissioning of the central mosque was to thank Dr. Bawumia and to send a strong signal to the NPP's Presidential hopefuls  that, Asanteman is ever prepared to support Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia to continue with the development of Nana Akufo Addo in the region.


It is important to note that,  Asanteman is not directly asking the New Patriotic Party to give them President on the contrary, they are demanding from the party  developmental projects at all levels and stands ready ready to support anyone who is committed in giving them development.


Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia stands for development and is committed to developing the Ashanti region hence , Asanteman will go for him to lead the party.
