ALAN KYEREMANTEN WAS THE CHAIRMAN OF THE ECONOMIC MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE OF CABINET

One of the most important events on the calendar of the New Patriotic Party is the Presidential primaries. The contest is anticipated to be an interesting contest between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon. Alan kyeremanten and Hon. Kennedy Agyapong as a 3rd force.


This write-up exposes the dishonesty and double standards of Hon. Alan kyeremanten going into the contest. 


Mr. Alan kyeremanten has unfortunately made it his campaign strategy to lambast the government by indirectly taking a swipe at Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia his main contender. 


Hon. Alan kyeremanten has openly blamed his inability to craft a message on the government. " *Worsening economy under Nana Akufo Addo government making it difficult for NPP to craft 2024 campaign message"*. 


Apart from this open pronouncement from Hon. Alan kyeremanteng on the government branding it as a failed government, key members of his campaign team have consistently linked Dr. Bawumia to the current economic struggle tagging him as the Chairman of the EMT as if he as the chairperson could take decisions alone without taking inputs from members just because they are looking for ways to discredit him. 


Among these people is Hon. Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, the former Adentan MP, and Hopeson Adoye, the failed Parliamentary candidate.  Hon. Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has regrettably made it a daily ritual to discredit Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia with dangerous propaganda.


The question people keep asking is that what will make someone who has been a part of a government for close to 7 years speak the way Alan spoke?


The dishonesty of Hon. Alan kyeremanten and his followers have been exposed in a trading video where the Majority chief whip, Hon. Annor Dompreh has disclosed that, Hon. Alan kyeremanten was the chairman of the Economic Management committee of the cabinet.


*I would not want to disrespect anyone I have heard what Hon. Yaw Buabeng Asamoah is peddling I just have an answer for him a very simple one, he said Dr. Bawumia has run down the economy this is my answer to him he should go and check the cabinet architecture of our government Hon. Alan kyeremanteng who is the Chairman of the Economic Management committee of the cabinet I am saying it on set he should come and challenge me."* 


It must be noted that since Hon. Annor Dompreh made those statements to the campaign team of Hon. Alan kyeremanten has not been able to respond to him.


This to me is a clear case of double standards on the part of Hon. Alan kyeremanten and his team it been that why should the campaign team of Alan kyeremanten blame the current economic struggle on the unblemished Vice President when they know very well Alan kyeremanten was the chairman of the Economic Management committee of cabinet? 


This also raises the issue of honesty. I think what the campaign team members of Hon. Alan kyeremanten ought to do that they have to impress upon Alan kyeremanten to take responsibility for the economic situation than keep on blaming Dr. Bawumia.


Dear delegates, please kindly treat candidates who come to you to blame the government Addo/Bawumia government with the contempt they deserve. That candidate can not survive if they claim the government has failed.
